Visitors that have made arrangements in advance are welcomed to the Child Development Laboratory School. Appointments are required for visits as faculty and staff are busy teaching and running the Lab School.

  • Parents, Iowa State Univeristy students, educators, and other professionals, should make their request from the Lab School contacts below prior to the day of your visit.
  • Prospective students wishing to tour the Lab School need to make arrangements through their adviser or through a campus tour organized by ISU or the College of Human Sciences.
  • Special tours, such as program and facility tours, presentations, and observations in specific programs are available with a two week advance request.
  • Research projects require special planning found on the Request & permission forms page.

Building

The Lab School is located on the ground floor of the Palmer Building.

Parking

Parking: Visitors to the Lab School need to park in the Memorial Union or other visitor parking spaces on campus.

Directions

To the MU from Hwy. 30:

  • From Hwy. 30, take exit 146 and turn right/north onto University Avenue
  • Turn left onto Lincoln Way
  • Take the first right after Union Dr.
  • The Memorial Union parking lot entrance is to the right.

To Palmer from the Memorial Union:

  • Head north and cross Union Drive
  • Walk past central campus (on left) and Curtis Hall (on right)
  • Continue north past Catt Hall
  • Palmer will be on the left side of the sidewalk
